How to appear higher in the Vetterly creator list

By Vetterly · Updated

When a brand comes to Vetterly looking for a creator, they can either post a brief and receive bids, or browse the creator list and choose someone directly. Where you appear on that list affects how often brands are likely to come across your profile.

Until recently, the list was ordered mostly by follower count. It isn't anymore.

What the order is now

From most important to least:

  1. Campaigns you've completed on Vetterly
  2. Your star rating from brands
  3. The number of reviews you've received
  4. How quickly you respond to brand messages
  5. How often you bid on briefs that suit you
  6. How active you are on Vetterly
  7. Photos and videos on your profile
  8. Follower count

Follower count is deliberately last. Audience size still matters, but we also want brands to be able to find creators who are responsive, reliable and good to work with, even if they don't have the biggest following.

Most of these signals come directly from what happens on Vetterly, so your position improves naturally as you build a track record here.

If you haven't been booked yet, start here

You don't need to have completed a campaign to start improving your visibility.

Reply to brands promptly. We look at the time between a brand messaging you and your first reply, so answering the same day is better than replying several days later. It's one of the easiest things for a new creator to build a strong track record around from day one.

Bid on briefs that genuinely suit you. A bid puts your offer directly in front of a brand. Set your own rate and briefly explain what you would create. You don't need to bid on everything, and we'd much rather you applied for opportunities that genuinely fit your content and audience.

Add photos and a showreel. Brands want to see what you make. Examples of your photos and videos make it much easier for someone browsing Vetterly to understand your style. Your showreel doesn't need to be highly polished either. Real examples of your content are often more useful than a perfect introduction video.

Stay active. Checking in regularly helps. We look at the days you visit rather than how long you stay, so there's no need to spend hours on the platform. A quick look at new briefs each week is enough to stay active.

Once you've been booked

Complete the campaign through Vetterly. When you submit your work through the platform, the brand can review it, request a change if needed, and accept it. That's what completes the campaign and adds it to your history.

Sending files directly by DM may feel quicker, but if the work isn't submitted through Vetterly, the campaign can't be completed properly on the platform.

Completed campaigns are the strongest signal in the creator list.

Build your reviews. After a campaign, brands can leave you a rating and a review. If the collaboration went well, there's nothing wrong with politely asking for one. Those reviews help the next brand understand what it's like to work with you.

How this changes as you go

The list isn't fixed. As you reply to brands, bid on suitable briefs, improve your profile and complete campaigns, your position can change. Completing your first campaign is especially valuable, because it starts building a real history of work on Vetterly.

That's the whole idea. We want the creator list to increasingly reflect the people who are doing good work, responding to brands and building a genuine track record here, rather than simply the people who arrived with the largest audience.

Common questions

Do I need a big following to be found on Vetterly?

No. Follower count is the last thing in the order. Audience size still matters, but a creator who replies quickly, bids on briefs that suit them and has finished work on Vetterly will appear above a larger account that hasn't.

Do gifted collabs count as much as paid ones?

Yes. A completed campaign counts the same whether you were paid in cash or in product.

How is my response time measured?

From a brand's first message in a conversation to your first reply. Answering the same day is better than replying several days later, and it's something a brand new creator can be good at immediately.

What happens if I send my work to the brand by DM instead?

The brand can't review, request a change or accept it, so the campaign can't be completed on the platform. Submitting through Vetterly is what finishes the campaign and adds it to your history.
